The Road to Revs 2025
The Road to Revs course has one purpose - to make you a more confident and skilled rider to get the most from your bike park trips.
You may be riding Red and Black trails at trail centers or riding some more natural trails out in the hills and want to progress to ride bike park features such as jumps or steep rutted trails. This course is designed for all riders, male and female, young and old, who are looking to improve their riding techniques and improve their days or weekends sessioning the bike parks.
The sessions start by looking at the fundamentals of riding bike park features, ensuring you have the basics embedded and are using them on every ride. Right through to more advanced techniques to ride steeper terrain with control, confidence and flow.
The sessions are carefully designed to build on to the next session with new skills and techniques to take away and practice, giving you time to progress as a rider. The course ends with enough time for you to keep practicing before the first Enduro races of 2025 start.
SESSION 1 - THE FUNDAMENTALS
The first day will be split in two. In the morning the coach will start by gaining an understanding of your current riding style and techniques. We will be focused on getting the basics right, from there we have a solid foundation to build more advanced riding techniques.
We will cover techniques such as: body position, body movement, bike movement, foot placement, braking - zones, bike setup, corners, pumping, bunny hops and overall control.
SESSION 2 - FAST, FLOWING AND JUMPS
It's important to be able to read the trail, generate speed and be able to jump while at a bike park
We will cover techniques such as: point of commitment, body positions, pumping, braking 2-1-none technique, bike setup, finding flow, line choice, drops, jumps and how to carry speed on flowy trails.
SESSION 3 - YOU LIKE IT STEEP
Many bike parks will have steep sections of trail and some of these can be long and technical. In order to ride steeper trails we need to alter the way we ride and approach these with some specific techniques used to maintain grip, speed and control.
We will cover techniques such as: body position on steep terrain, body movement, bike movement, braking 2-1-none technique, bike setup, corners, pumping, using grip points and carrying speed on steeper terrain.
SESSION 4 - REVOLUTION BIKE PARK
This session we will spend the day at Revolution Bike park putting into practice the skills and techniques we have learned and been practicing. We will use the uplift to reach the top of the trails and spend some time sessioning sections of track - Jump lines and steep trails before a regroup for lunch.
In the afternoon we will look at putting together some full runs of the trails we worked on during the morning.
